We Are Not a Monolith: Student Art Exhibit

The Heartbeats Co-op & Internship Program for Black and Indigenous Youth is an Arts and Culture initiative through the Cultural Services Division at the City of Brampton that provides students with opportunities for creative exploration, skill-building, and professional development through hands-on learning. The culminating art showcase at Algoma University is inspired by the theme “We Are Not a Monolith” and celebrates the diversity, individuality, and lived experiences within Black culture. Featuring a curated collection of original student artwork, the exhibition highlights each artist’s unique perspective and personal story while creating space for community engagement, youth voice, and creative expression.

Join us for a special evening celebrating the creativity and voices of emerging youth artists in the City of Brampton. Hosted at Algoma University, this year’s exhibition is inspired by the theme “We Are Not a Monolith,” highlighting the diversity, individuality, and richness within Black culture.
