Over this four-week course, students will explore the power of colour contrast and learn how to use it to create bold, eye-catching artwork. Working with acrylic markers, students will experiment with light and dark, warm and cool, complementary colours, and pattern and texture to make their images stand out. Each class will include guided demonstrations, creative exercises, and time to develop a finished artwork that reflects the ideas explored each week.
What to expect:

Throughout the course, students will build confidence in using colour intentionally while learning how contrast can change the mood, energy, and focus of a piece. This class is perfect for teens who want to strengthen their artistic skills, try a fun and accessible medium, and create artwork that feels vibrant, graphic, and expressive.

Weekly themes
Week 1: Light vs. dark.

Week 2: Warm vs. cool.

Week 3: Complementary colours.

Week 4: Texture and pattern contrast.
